Create a quality blog post every time

Blogging is one of the most valuable tools that a business has to engage with customers; it’s a direct communication channel to share timely and relevant information, plus, it fuels SEO for your business website.

There’s just one problem about blogging…

Generating new ideas for high-quality articles can become difficult. Coming up with something to write about that’s relevant, engaging, and that hasn’t already been done before often seems like a challenge – but it doesn’t have to be.

We’ve compiled a list of five sure-fire tactics to end your writer’s block every time.

1. Review a product or service

Products are launched every day. These can range from training programs to physical products, services, and magazines. They often generate some buzz, but do they live up to their promise? Why not follow up on a product that was launched a few years ago and track its performance in your business? Just because you are a business doesn’t mean you can’t review the works of others; in fact, it’s a valuable service to your customers and potential customers.

2. Get inspiration from a different industry and adopt it to your industry.

Your niche may have its unique propositions, but the essence of business is the same across all industries. Find out how people are solving problems in different industries and see how it can be adapted to fit your industry and vise versa. Your readers will thank you! simPRO CEO Brad Couper did just that in his article Would your business benefit from a technology business model? and it was picked up by leading business magazine Australian Anthill.

3. Read other blogs

This is not a sign of weakness; it’s keeping up with the competition. Find out what your industry experts are blogging about and bring the unique perspective of your business to some topics they have covered.

4. Update

Write a sequel to one of your past blog posts. If you have a lengthy post, save some for next time. Just be sure the first post was good enough to make your readers want more.

5. Disagree with someone

Have an opinion. You may take an issue or disagree with a point someone has made; that’s a perfect blog post. Share the original view and expand upon it. If you disagree with someone with a higher profile than you and they respond, it will bring traffic to your site. The only caveat is you should only argue something you really believe.
